Biolab came to Slingshot with the challenge of developing a pool floater calibrated to properly dispense their newly designed chlorine tablet. This product met the stringent environmental and technical requirements posed by exposure to the outdoors and the chlorine tablet itself, while portraying the AquaChem brand as an innovative, quality product.
Slingshot's creative design team came up with a wide variety of architectures for the floater. Through preliminary consumer feedback, the team was able to establish the design direction quickly and effectively. Slingshot engineers explored various paths of chlorine dispersal and evaluated each option for feasibility to arrive at a solution that exceeded the client's criteria. Slingshot then detailed, prototyped, and tested the pool floater to verify that all requirements were met. Finally, Slingshot managed the tooling development and manufacturing ramp-up for the pool floater and handed the process over to BioLab after approval of the pilot production run. Slingshot aided Biolab on this program by serving as their one-stop, vertically integrated design and manufacturing partner. We successfully helped our client optimize their chemical product and develop an accompanying pool floater to create a system for their desired chlorine dispersal profile while meeting their target cost objectives.
