Slingshot implemented industrial design and innovation to deliver a commercial grade point-of-sale system. Slingshot's industrial design and engineering team developed two revenue management system units for ACS. These units required durability and advanced technology to collect parking revenue inside and outside airports. The key challenge was maintaining the aesthetic desired by the client while designing the products under an aggressive timeline.
Slingshot executed the engineering details with attention given to the seams and joints of the sheet metal exterior. Modifications to the client's design were completed to facilitate manufacturing and assembly without compromising the aesthetic appeal of the units. Due to the significant size difference between the devices, creativity and attention to detail were required to maximize the utilization of common components in order to reduce production costs. As a result, Slingshot's innovation process gave ACS a stylish new product line which met their desired cost targets.
